A little love note for you (yes, you)

We hear it all the time: “Love others well.” And that’s beautiful. But I want to talk a little more about loving yourself...

Not in the cliché, “treat yourself” way (although I'm all for that 😉). I’m talking about the deep kind of love. The messy, soul-soothing, grace-drenched kind. The kind that says, “Hey, you’re enough—even when you’re tired, even when you don’t have it all together.

Jesus said, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:31)

But here’s the kicker: if you don’t know how to love yourself, how can you fully love anyone else?

So… what does that even look like? This has been a life-long journey for me personally, and I truly thought I was doing a decent job at loving myself. But it took digging a little deeper in prayer, listening and self-reflection to realize that self-love really looks like:

♥️ dropping the impossible expectations and letting yourself just be human—messy, imperfect, wonderful, emotional and complicated.

♥️ letting go of any guilt or pressure when it tries to sneak in every time you truly allow yourself to rest. (side note: rest is actually incredibly productive. More on that at another time. 😊)

♥️ not judging your feelings. lts okay that you're feeling sad/angry/insecure/doubtful/resentful. It's really okay. The more we welcome and accept those feelings, the quicker they move through us.

♥️ talking to yourself like you’d talk to someone you adore. (Spoiler: that someone should be you.)

This week, I want you to do one small thing—just one—that feels like love.

Say no to something that drains you.

Take a nap (or simply get cozy on the couch with a good book) without apologizing for it.

Look in the mirror, smile and say, “I am loved, I am worthy and I am enough.”

Because you are.

Breathe that in. Let it settle. You’ve got this.
