The Power of Presence
This month in our Unhurried community, we are discussing the Power of Presence & Mindful Awareness for emotional well-being and deep spiritual connection.
Ironically today, I found myself doing something ridiculous. I was standing in my kitchen, phone in one hand, stirring my coffee with the other, half-listening to a podcast on my earbuds, while also mentally drafting a response to a text. All at once.
Sound familiar?
We spend so much of our days on autopilot, always somewhere else - thinking about what’s next, replaying what already happened, or caught in the endless scroll of distractions. But in doing so, we miss the only thing that’s actually real: this moment.
Jesus never lived this way. He moved slowly and intentionally. He stopped for conversations. He noticed people. He wasn’t hurried, distracted, or half-present. And yet, He accomplished everything He was sent to do.
So what if we lived this way, too?
Try this:
🌷 Pause right now. Take a slow, deep breath.
🌷 Feel your feet on the ground. Hear the sounds around you.
🌷 Let this moment be enough. For real.
The beauty of slowing down and truly being present is that life suddenly expands. Colors seem richer. Conversations become deeper. The ordinary becomes sacred. When we stop rushing, we start seeing - the kindness in the cashier's eye, the magic of morning sunlight, the way God speaks in the stillness we so often bypass. Life doesn’t just pass through us anymore; it settles into us. And in that space, we find peace. ✨
This week, I invite you to break free from autopilot mode. Be fully present for one conversation, one meal, or even one sip of coffee (so you actually remember making it). You might just find that everything you’ve been chasing is already here.
