We Practice What We Become
I wanted to offer a gentle reminder this week: the way we live is shaped by what we practice daily. If we practice rushing, striving, and worrying, those things become the rhythm of our lives. But if we practice noticing, we begin to shift from fear to love, from scarcity to abundance, from busyness to deep presence.
The truth is, life’s most beautiful moments are often the smallest. The way sunlight filters through the trees. The sound of a loved one’s voice. The feeling of a deep, cleansing breath. These moments whisper to us daily, but we miss them - not because they aren’t there, but because we aren’t here.
Jesus constantly called people to see. He was showing us that God’s presence isn’t waiting in some distant, future place - it’s right here, woven into the fabric of our everyday lives. And when we train ourselves to notice, we begin to shift our awareness from fear to love - because we see, with fresh eyes, that God has already given us so much.
So here’s a simple but powerful practice for this week: notice something beautiful every day. It could be the kindness in a stranger’s smile, the feeling of warmth in your hands as you sip your morning coffee, or the peace that comes in a quiet moment alone with God.
Because we become what we practice. And when we practice noticing love, presence, and beauty, those things begin to shape us from the inside out. 🌷
With love and open eyes, Julie
